How to Tell if it's Seasonal Depression or Just a Bad Mood

During the winter season it is a known fact that most people experience mood changes. We are currently in the last few weeks of winter and it good to know if what you are feeling is just a bad mood or something a little more serious. According to Lindsay Holmes, a contributor writer for the Huffington Post says, "approximately 10million people in the United States are affected by seasonal affective disorder, a depression -related condition that generally occurs in the winter months."  

Here are some signs to differentiate seasonal depression from winter blues:

  • You're sleeping a lot more than usual
  • You've lost interest in fun activities
  • You're craving carbs
  • Your energy is low
  • You're constantly bickering with your loved ones
  • You feel fine during the other seasons
