Depression is a mental illness that can cause you to feel isolated. This isolated feeling can affect your romantic relationship. Melissa Dahl wrote an article in Huffington Post.com about a study done by BPS Research Digest that gathered stories from 135 couples who had one or both partners suffering from depression. These couples were asked the question, ‘’In what ways, if any, do feelings of sadness or depression affect your romantic relationship?’’ The responses varied from how one persons depression can trigger their partner, while others stated that the depression brought them closer together because they were able to understand what the other person was feeling.
